Outside the Lines.

Time for an update, eh?

Day 2 was spent in bed with jet lag. Woo! Anyways, moving on.

Day 3 was the bomb.

We had a great lesson about Indo-Islamic art history. And really, I could do that for the rest of my life and be happy.

However, here’s what’s interesting.

In case I didn’t inform you, I’m an art historian, and I’m in India doing a studio art course. Art history requires studio art credit, so I decided to do this because it just seemed way more fun than anything else. And art history requires me to stick with my rigid personality.

But today, I colored outside the lines.

Before we had our good lecture on Indo-Islamic art, we had another lecture on…. something. Anyways, it wasn’t that great. Since our requirement to draw and journal throughout the trip, I decided to take some time to catch up.

Another side note: I can’t draw. My friend Emma is legitimately convinced I have a depth perception issue because I can barely draw anything in 3D. The only way I survived basic drawing was going to office hours daily. But anyways.

Today, I drew. And it actually doesn’t look like poop. And for once, I felt this creative energy that everyone speaks of. And I actually enjoyed drawing.

So despite some other things that have gone wrong in the past 48 hours, I’ve quite enjoyed coloring outside the lines. I highly recommend you try it.

Tomorrow we finally get to see some monuments, so stayed tuned for pictures! :)
